Hello and welcome to the final Friday of October, where we start to say farewell to fall as the holiday season starts. I know it’s still officially fall for another month and a half, but here, I start getting ready for the holidays with menu planning and events dotting the calendar. In the next few weeks, I will be bringing some of my favorite Thanksgiving recipes, and a timeline for cooking everything if you happen to be hosting.
This week, though, please enjoy a couple of my favorite fall recipes that are well loved in the McCullough house. The first is Italian egg drop soup, or Stracciatella, as it’s called in Italian. I make this when the weather gets cold outside, or when someone in our house gets sick. It’s warm and cozy and comforting, and the egg adds a nice bit of protein. It definitely works as a weeknight dinner, since it’s so quick and easy to make. You probably have all the ingredients in your house without having to go to the store.
The other recipe is a comforting classic—oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I love the added bulk of oatmeal in chocolate chip cookies, especially in fall and winter. I hope you enjoy them as much as our family does.
Enjoy the last weekend of October and give me a follow on Instagram if you’d like. And visit my Amazon page for all of my favorite kitchen and entertaining supplies!
