11-22-15 MESSAGE: "Grafted In"

We are called to abide in the vine. As grafted in branches we eventually grow to become one with the vine itself. An encouraging and inspiring word on the need to cling more closely to Jesus until our hearts have become His heart and our will, His will.

1 Corinthians 4:1-11

Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. 3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. 4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. 5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

Acts 20:1-12 And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia. 2 And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece, 3 And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia. 4 And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus. 5 These going before tarried for us at Troas.

Listening for God: Hard of Hearing

Southside Baptist Church
November 22, 2015
Acts 7:51-60

Summary: I am extremely thankful to serve a God who both listens to my prayers and speaks truth into my life. But for some reason, people often do not listen when God speaks. Listening has quickly become a lost skill in our society, either because of our own sense of self-importance or because we do not want to hear what is being said. Yet, as the Body of Christ, we have a responsibility to listen for the voice of God. Consider what the Church would look like today if the people of God would spend less time talking and more time listening.

Exodus 11:1-10

And the LORD said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether. 2 Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold. 3 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people. 4 And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt:

"Remain Spiritually Awake"
