The Decalogue: And God Spoke . . .

Southside Baptist Church
September 27, 2015 - Evening Service
Exodus 20:1-2

Summary: After taking and overview of the history of the Exodus and Moses, we take a step back to take a closer look at one of the most defining moments for the nation of Israel: receiving the Ten Commandments. As we work our way through the Ten Commandments, we will begin to understand that these are more than rules and regulations, but rather instructions that paint a picture of living in relationship with God.

Inside-Out Christians: I WILL Go

Southside Baptist Church
September 27, 2015 - Morning Service
Acts 4:5-20

Summary: As we continue to examine what it means to be the Body of Christ, we explore God's calling upon the believers to give testimony to the Gospel, and the excuses we often give for not answering that call.

Saved By What?

Imagine you are on a ship in a severe storm. You are on deck trying to get to safety. A strong gust of wind blows you off into the water. A man on board sees you and throws you a life preserver. You grab it and swim back to the ship and climb to safety. The question is: “What were you saved by?” The ship, the man who threw the life preserver, the life preserver, the water or yourself – The truth is you were saved by all of them. If you take any one of them away, you will be lost.

Sermon: "Flee Jerusalem!" Jeremiah 6:1-15 Rev. R. Scott MacLaren 9/27/2015

Could there be any more devastating words than these to the devout Jew: "Flee Jerusalem!" Such a cry might seem treasonous, even as a sign of apostasy, yet it came from the Lord Himself speaking through His prophet Jeremiah. Watch as Pastor MacLaren shows from Jeremiah 6 how God may make the same call today to many who attend outwardly Christian churches. This sermon was preached on September 27, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, PA (www.firstchurchopc.org). First Church is a member of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. The Rev. R. Scott MacLaren is the pastor.

1 Corinthians 4:7-14

7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? 8 Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you. 9 For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. 10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised. 11 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace; 12 And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

Romans 16:1-14

I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: 2 That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also. 3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: 4 Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. 5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ. 6 Greet Mary, who bestowed much labour on us. 7 Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me. 8 Greet Amplias my beloved in the Lord. 9 Salute Urbane, our helper in Christ, and Stachys my beloved.
