Making an Appointment With The Doctor

Pastor David Gutierrez explains the cause of most of our problems and how to solve them.

The Day Jesus Changed His Mind

Hello and welcome to Salem UMC!!!
This is pastor Bob Tuttle's sermon for the week of September 6th, 2015...
Enjoy.

The Heart of a True Leader

By definition, a "leader" is simply "one who goes first." Of course, he must have at least one person following him, or he is just a "go-er." A genuine Christian leader is not one who lords it over others, but who is a helper of their joy. One way he does that is by being real, that is, authentic, with those he serves, setting an example of intimacy with Jesus Christ as the source of his own strength. The Body of Christ desperately needs godly leaders, and from 2 Corinthians 1, 2 Timothy 2, and Isaiah 58, John Lynn sets forth many magnificent principles of true Christian leadership.

Romans 14:13-23

13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. 14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. 16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of: 17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. 19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. 20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.

The Greatest Day in History

In all human history, one day stands above the rest, the day Jesus rose from the dead. On that day Jesus defeated death and opened the way to eternal life for all mankind.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ validates Christianity, and gives Christ, and His teachings, the highest of all authority. It inspires and builds personal confidence that we can have a personal relationship with our heavenly Father and His son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:8-13

8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
