Acts 2, a key record regarding the birth of the Church, how those first Christians began to turn the world upside down, and how we can do likewise.

Our first parents were placed in a perfect environment, the Garden of Eden, and were made good and innocent of any sin. Yet, in God's providence, they were given natures that were liable to sin, and they were given a test within the Garden to see if they would obey God for no apparent reason at all, beyond his mere will. Watch as Pastor MacLaren provides a commentary on the Westminster Confession of Faith during the Sunday Worship Service of First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, PA, on September 14, 2014. The Book of Acts is the only God-breathed historical record of the birth and growth of the early Christian Church. It is filled with actual accounts of "regular" human beings who turned their world upside down by boldly believing and proclaiming the resurrection of Jesus Christ, as well as doing signs, miracles, and wonders. This scintillating account in Acts 8 brings to light the principles those early brethren put into practice. Because God is still God and Jesus is still the Lord, you and I can do likewise.

THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS EXTREMELY VALUABLE, PRICELESS. THE ANOINTING IS LIKE A TREASURE, A BEAUTIFUL CROWN OR DIADEM THAT GOD GIVES HIS CHILDREN. THE ANOINTING IS HOLY AND PURE. TO BE ANOINTED IS AN HONOR BESTOWED UPON US, A PRIVILEGE, IT IS TO BE DIGNIFIED AND FAVORED OF GOD. WHOEVER IS ANOINTED OF THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS CLOTHED WITH DIGNITY, MAGNIFICENCE, HONOR, GLORY, AND HOLINESS. THE ANOINTING IS FOR ALL THE CHILDREN OF GOD WASHED IN THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB AND SET APART FOR GOD THEIR FATHER.

9-16-14 This week we continued our verse by verse walk through the entire epistle of Romans. This twenty-seventh session we continued looking at chapter 8 (verses 21-25).
