The Love of Jesus Christ is absolute and never ending. But, sometimes ours is not as it should be, it needs cultivation. The Lord is willing to take the love we have until He can make it what He wants.

On this Good Shepherd Sunday, Peter describes the Christian's journey through this life as a kind of pilgrimage. We need a guide for that journey and our Good Shepherd is the one who will lead us. One reality that we struggle to make sense of is the suffering that goes on in the world...and when it is encountered, we have to remember that suffering is an "example" that God provides us so that we remember Christ's suffering for our sins and dying on the cross. There will be times when we lose our way and we WILL sin- so we will suffer the consequences of our sins and continue following our Shepherd because he will lead, guide, and keep us in line until we are safely home with our Heavenly Father.
Why are you and I here on this earth? We are here to serve our LORD as a Kingdom of priests. As the Mother's Day tornadoes caused widespread destruction in the communities of Beaver Crossing, Cordova, and Sutton, the week since has shown many that we are here to do good works for those in need. In the same manner, it allows us to witness about God's mighty power and proclaim his excellencies...be a living stone of HIS church.
