Because of Solomon's sin, the nation of Israel would now be split between the Northern and Southern kingdoms. Each nation would have different struggles, but the root of their problems would always be their denial of the one, true, Almighty God.

CallUponTheLord.com 013: "The Great Story - Week 13: Ruth" examines the life of Naomi and Ruth. Ruth showed extreme loyalty to Naomi when she would not return to her homeland. Ruth said, "...your people will be my people and your God my God". It was through her because of her devotion to Naomi that she met Boaz. Boaz redeemed Ruth and provided her with a son, Obed. Through the Providence of God, the Messianic line continued. The lesson here is to always trust in the Lord, He always has a plan.

Solomon's story shows us that especially in times of plenty, we should rejoice in the goodness and holiness of our God, denying all others.
