Peace to everyone,
Today, the 3rd Sunday of Advent, our focus is about “JOY” that celebrates Gaudete Sunday (a Latin word that means REJOICE). We see JOY on Christmas cards, in shopping mall signage, and oversized letters on front lawns, yet if we were asked to define “JOY”, we might be tempted to refer to a dictionary.
Jesus is the reason we “rejoice”. He is the Incarnation of God, the light that came into the world. His light remains with us even today, through the Holy Eucharist (his Real Presence) and through the Church (where he remains with us, his Mystical Body).
As His Church, we await this Light to grow into its fullness when He comes again in his glorious reign.
In today’s message, I offer three brief examples to help us better recognize “JOY” within our own lives, as we patiently wait for Christmas to arrive -- That moment when God, our Savior, enters human history to defeat sin and restore our eternal relationship with God, our Father.
A blessed, and joyous Christmas to all, and a faith-filled New Year in 2020.

God is very upset with fake Christianity in America, worshiping money and not God in the churches and not standing up against wickedness in the land. God is going to judge this country soon if we don't repent.

Do you find it difficult to read the bible? Are you discouraged when you read the bible, because you fell that you just don't get it? Do you rely solely on what your preacher says about the bible versus the understanding that God provides, such that if God gave you a pop quiz, your only answer would be "I don't know, go ask my preacher"?

If you struggle in reading the bible, then start praying to God for him to provide the spiritual eyesight and spiritual ears to understand the meaning of his scriptures. Start praying to God for the Holy Spirit, the author of the scriptures through the prophets, to help you understand the scriptures. The bible is not meant for man to read without God and his Holy Spirit.

This is why we have so many denominations and why there is so many man teachings that are not in the bible, such as "once saved, always saved" (If that was true, why are so many of the letters that Paul wrote addressing people that were falling away from the original faith? Wasn't Judas once saved?).

Are you living life based on God's timeline or your own timeline? I have come across many religious leaders that are scoffers and mockers and do not believe that we are in the last days and that the rapture or tribulation period is near. Those that hear God are aware of just how close we are. Seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit so that you can hear God and be prepared for either the rapture or tribulation.

Ephesians 5:25-27 says that Christ is returning for a radiant bride, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. Jesus told me "my bride is dirty" and I asked how she can get clean. His reply was via the "baptism of the Holy Spirit" (see Acts 2:2). You need to start asking, seeking and knocking for the baptism of the holy spirit to be ready for the rapture.

Are you having a hard time reading the bible? Do you yet see how the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is separately at play in the scriptures? This should help.

Jesus is the Way
Holy Spirit is the Truth
God is the Life

It is easy to find Jesus and God in the scriptures, but the Holy Spirit can be better identified in the scriptures with the following:

1) Anything water (rain, snow, hail, crying, spit, rivers, lakes, ponds)
2) The words "Truth", "Wisdom", "Knowledge" and "Word" (When John talks about the "Word was made flesh", Jesus was the flesh part and the Holy Spirit was the "Word" part which came upon Mary to lead to the virgin birth.)

Ephesians 5:25-27 says that Christ is returning for a radiant bride, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. This scripture says that the bride must be washed in the word, which means washed in the Holy Spirit or the Holy Spirit baptism. Jesus told me "my bride is dirty" and I asked how she can get clean. Among the many things we ignore in the New Testament is the "Speaking in Tongues". God considers babble (like that of a toddler) to be the highest form of praise and worship to him. However, many that seek God do not find him because they are told that the baptism of the holy spirit does not apply today or that it was only for the early church or that speaking in tongues is of the devil. Nothing could be further from the truth. On the contrary, we see the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the speaking in tongues as a necessity to real salvation per Mark 16:16-17 and as the way to enter the kingdom of heaven per John 3. This is how we reconcile our faith back to the original faith of Peter and Paul like the book of Jude says.

Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is Near...

Yes, we still have to repent in order to seek true salvation. However, we don't seem to be teaching this in the churches anymore. It is time to return to seeking salvation the way that Jesus himself taught. First, we must repent, fighting for our soul so that Jesus can step in and do the rest. Then start seeking the "Baptism of the Holy Spirit" so that you are made into a new creation, just like the scriptures say. Raising your hand at the end of a church sermon does not lead to true salvation. Be honest with yourself, because God knows your heart better than you do. You may lie to yourself, but you can't lie to God. It is time to escape the emptiness that living in sin produces, so that you can find real joy, peace and love from above and true salvation and secure your eternal destination.
