A teenage survivor of the deadly flooding of a Texas camp rewrote the lyrics to "Hallelujah," creating a powerful and tear-jerking version. Unfortunately, tragedies, such as natural disasters like tornadoes, hurricanes or flooding, do occur. Everywhere we look, whether on social media or any television news broadcast, we are quickly reminded of this fact. Also, depending on when and where they take place, they can be absolutely devastating and horrific, leading to immense pain and heartache.
Texas, specifically the central part of the Lone Star State, was recently the site of massive flooding. Sadly, according to Fox News, more than 130 people were killed as a result of the flooding. Among those who lost their lives were nearly 30 young people and counselors at Camp Mystic, which is described as a "private Christian summer camp for girls."
But despite the tragedy, through all the hurt and gut-wrenching pain, one young woman, a Camp Mystic camper, shared what she experienced during that horrible situation. In a clip posted on YouTube, she added her own words, creating a new version of the Leonard Cohen hit classic song from 1985.
It will be difficult not to shed a tear or two while listening to this young woman perform her updated version of "Hallelujah" as she sings of the devastation she witnessed, but also of the love and kindness she felt in the tragedy’s aftermath.

What a powerful and moving tune that captures the hurt and devastation she and her fellow campers experienced. But through all that hurt and loss, this young woman remains hopeful, obviously moved by the outpouring of love, kindness and generosity shown to her and those impacted.
