The Story Behind Fred Rogers’ Iconic Sweaters on 'Mister Rogers Neighborhood' Will Touch Your Heart

The story behind Fred Rogers’ iconic sweaters on “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” will touch your heart. The meaning of those sweaters is likely information that even some of the biggest fans of the beloved program did not even know. Watch the short but heartwarming clip to hear about the sweaters worn on the classic children’s program.

“Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” is a television program everyone is familiar with or, at the very least, has heard of. Even those born long after the show went off the air have likely caught a rerun or two. It was a show that taught its young audience about patience, kindness, gentleness, love and acceptance - qualities and virtues that are all sorely lacking in society today.

The program was led by the soft-spoken and middle-mannered Fred Rogers, who went around his neighborhood interacting with a host of characters, some of whom were puppets and others actual human beings. But as everyone remembers, every episode began with Mr. Rogers putting on a sweater and a pair of shoes.

In a clip posted on social media, Fred Rogers explained the meaning behind the sweaters that became a staple of the popular PBS show. As he explains, his mother actually made those sweaters.

“My mother, as long as I could remember, made at least one sweater every month,” he said. “And at Christmas time, she had about 12 very close people to her. I mean, there was Dad and my sister and I, of course, and my grandmother. And she would give us each a hand-knit sweater every Christmas. And so, until she died, those zipper sweaters that I wear on the ‘Neighborhood’ were all made by my mother.”

What an absolutely fascinating story and a beautiful way for him to honor his mother. Who would have guessed that something seemingly as insignificant as a cardigan could carry so much meaning?

Proverbs 22:6 “If a child is trained up in the right way, even when he is old he will not be turned away from it.”

Woman Shares Her Journey to Complain Less and Trust God More

One woman shared her journey of trying to complain less and trust God more. She mentioned that she has made a concerted effort to stop grumbling and whining about situations and circumstances and instead focus more on God’s plan. Watch the short but powerful clip to hear what the young woman had to say.

Everyone whines and complains at one point or another. It’s human nature to voice complaints whenever something is not going our way. We all want to go through life without any pain, struggles or worries, but unfortunately, that is not possible. That is a fact of life.

Situations will arise in life that we don’t like or appreciate, and they might even result in pain and discomfort. Often, circumstances are totally out of our control, and we just have to grin and bear it. But what would happen if we put more trust and faith in God instead of the default human response of grumbling and complaining?

In a clip posted on YouTube, one woman explained that she has really tried hard to do just that. She even mentions a specific instance where she reached out to Jesus Christ and said she was through with complaining. Instead, she was going to trust and rely upon Him and His plan.

“But I don’t want to look back on this season, and be, like, ‘I complained my whole way through this,’” she said. “Don’t want to do that. And so, I’ve been really intentional about being present. This is what God has me in.”

Later in the clip, she mentions the Israelites and their wandering in the desert for 40 years.

“And I do not want to end up like the Israelites,” she said. “Because I’m telling you right now what should have taken them 11 days took them 40 years. And sometimes, when we keep complaining, and we have that lack of faith, we stay stuck, and we’re prolonging what God has for us.”

Philippians 2:14 “Do all things without protest and arguments;”

'The Office’ Stars Reunite and Reflect on the Iconic TV Show

Stars from “The Office” reunited and reflected on the iconic TV show. The cast members shared many thoughts on and memories from their time together on the beloved program. Watch the short but heartwarming clip to hear from several of the stars of “The Office,” a show that is near and dear to the hearts of many.

Television shows come and go at a very high rate. Most sitcoms and dramas are on for a season or two at most and then forgotten forever. Whether the show was poorly made, the actors were miscast or it never quite found its audience, most programs are cancelled within a few seasons. Only a select few sitcoms and dramas ever reach three, four seasons and beyond.

Of those sitcoms and dramas that get an extended run on television, even fewer become classics. “The Office” is one of those shows that is, without question, a classic. It’s one of those shows you can watch, rewatch and never get tired of. It’s also a highly quotable program, with nearly every character having said something memorable, especially the hysterical, lovable, but terrible-at-his-job boss, Michael Scott.

In a clip posted on YouTube, the actors who played Creed, Meredith, Angela, Oscar, Erin, Stanley and Kevin reunited and looked back on the show. They shared some memories of their time on the show and mentioned how they still get recognized as their characters in public.

While sitting at their desks for those long hours while filming, they mentioned they would pass the time doing their taxes and found their houses online.

When asked who was most like their character, Angela Kinsey, who played Angela on the show, pointed to the actor who played Creed, whose first name is actually Creed.

Somehow, it’s been 20 years since the program premiered on NBC in 2005.  For anyone who enjoys “The Office,” this clip is a must-watch!

Boston Marathon Runner Pauses to Help Another in Touching Act of Kindness

A Boston Marathon runner paused to help another person in a touching act of kindness. The runner demonstrated sportsmanship and class when they stopped to help a struggling fellow runner. Watch the short but powerful clip to see the touching moment when someone displayed kindness and concern for another.

The world is a sad, lonely and cruel place. It often feels like everyone is solely out for themselves and is without any care or concern for the well-being of others. The best way to describe the current state of society is dog-eat-dog. That cold, cruel and uncaring mentality can be spotted everywhere we look, from the news, social media and the government.

Well, not everyone is just concerned about themselves and what they can acquire. A clip posted on social media shows that some individuals still care for and about others. The act captured in the video will likely restore your faith in humanity and may even bring a tear to your eye.

In the video's opening moments, a runner falls to the ground. His legs have stopped working, and he’s unable to get back up. After he initially falls to the ground, several other runners pass the man on the ground without giving the struggling runner a second look. But seconds later, another man comes up behind the runner on the ground. He offers him a loving and helping hand.

He tries several times to help the man to his feet, but he’s wobbly and unsteady and appears ready to stumble and fall back to the ground at any moment. But instead of giving up on him, the kind and loving runner stays with him and eventually helps him to his feet.

The two men continue the race together, much to the delight of the spectators.

The video was taken at the Boston Marathon, likely near the finish line. The text near the bottom of the screen reads, “Humanity, even after 26.2 miles.”

What a powerful example of bearing each other’s burdens and offering assistance to someone struggling.

Galatians 6:2 “Take on yourselves one another’s troubles, and so keep the law of Christ.”

Jelly Roll Shares How ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah’ Is Touching Hearts

Jelly Roll shared how his and Brandon Lake’s song “Hard Fought Hallelujah” is touching hearts. The popular musician mentioned what he hears from and how people have reacted to the hit song. Watch the short but powerful clip to listen to what Jelly Roll had to say about the response to “Hard Fought Hallelujah.”

The world is a sad, lonely and broken place. It’s full of people who are hurting and struggling, hoping for anything to alleviate the pain. Sadly, these individuals will hunt and search everywhere for a solution. They may find a temporary fix, but soon enough, the pain and the heartache are back again.

There is an answer to all that pain and suffering: Jesus Christ. His healing, comfort, forgiveness and love will never wear off or fade away. In a clip posted on YouTube, Jelly Roll and Brandon Lake discuss their song “Hard Fought Hallelujah.” In the short clip, Jelly Roll mentions how the song has impacted him and what he has continually heard from others.

“Like, everywhere I go, this is the song people are talking to me about right now,” Jelly Roll said. “It’s really cool, man, and I love the conversation it’s creating. Like, real conversations are being had online. Sometimes not fun, but sometimes great, right? It’s like, it’s like, here’s my deal: I think it’s our jobs, where in faith, to push that envelope anyways. Like those conversations needed to be created.”

Later in the clip, Jelly Roll says he knows how he and others are turning toward God in response to the song.

“But I can tell you what’s also happening is millions of people like me are finding a safe place right now in God,” he said. “You know what I mean? For sure, because I’m getting the messages that are like, ‘Yo, I’m like a fence-riding Christian, too. Like, I kind of believe. I grew up with some core values but kind of got away from it, and you make me feel safe being, like, talking about God again.’”

Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before me, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
