Inspiring Young Woman Overcomes Multiple Life-Threatening Health Issues

An inspiring young woman has overcome multiple life-threatening health issues. Enduring one of the horrifying ordeals and scary situations she has had to face would be too much for most people. Check out the video about this resilient and persistent young woman who cannot wait to begin helping others despite everything she has gone through.

Life is rarely, if ever, a fair experience. We all have problems and unpleasant circumstances we’re presented with at one time or another. These situations are typically painful, can be devastating and often result in grief and sorrow. However, we all know individuals who, for whatever reason, seem to be given what appears to be more than their fair share of difficulties and struggles.

Caroline Laubach, a Pennsylvania college student, is someone who has faced several massive, frightening health problems. According to a video posted on YouTube, Caroline, who is disabled, was experiencing enormous pain, making it difficult to breathe. It turned out that the young woman, at just 18 years old, was experiencing liver, kidney and heart failure.

She badly needed a heart transplant, but then, days before she would go under the knife, something else started to go wrong. She suffered a spinal stroke reportedly caused by a machine pumping blood to her back that restricted her airflow.

At that point, Caroline said doctors told her family to start making final arrangements.

Thankfully, Caroline was able to receive a much-needed new heart. But her health struggles did not stop there.

She was later diagnosed with cancer.

“It was on my left tonsil. It was on lymph nodes next to my heart. It was in my upper GI, lower GI and my bladder wall,” Caroline said.

According to the YouTube clip, this incredibly strong and inspiring young woman who had already been through so much managed to defeat cancer not once but twice. Now, she is not letting anything stop her from fulfilling her dreams and goals. She is pursuing a degree in nutrition and an occupational doctorate.

“I can’t wait to just start helping other people,” she said.

Philippians 4:13 “I am able to do all things through him who gives me strength.”

What is love all about … really?

Pastor on Finding and Experiencing Peace During the Storm

A pastor discussed finding and experiencing peace during the storm. He talked about how it is somehow possible to have peace through some of life’s most difficult situations and the only source of that inexplicable peace. Watch the video to hear the preacher’s powerful and moving thoughts about having peace during the storm.

Life is not always a fun experience full of roses, rainbows and nonstop laughter. In fact, it will be quite the opposite on many more occasions than we’d like to admit or think about. There will be many trying, difficult times during our time on Earth. Those instances will test our faith, perhaps even stretching it to its limit and beyond.

However, even when we’re hurting and experiencing intense grief and uncertainty, peace is still possible. In a clip posted on YouTube, one pastor highlighted a verse in the New Testament from the book of John about having peace during hardships.

“This is what it says in the book of John 14:27 it says, ‘I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give.’ Isn’t that true? ‘So don’t be troubled or afraid.’”

Next, he takes that verse about the peace that surpasses all understanding and applies it to our lives and experiences.

“See, the people who go through difficult situations and still have peace that they’re getting from God, it’s because it’s not contingent on the situation,” he says.

Finally, the pastor highlights a young woman who suffered a horrible, devastating injury that left her paralyzed, making her life immensely more complicated. He then mentions everything that she went on to accomplish following her injury and demonstrates how she found peace amid her struggles.

“All of this was done by this dear woman, who by society’s terms should have no peace, and yet she had peace beyond understanding,” he said. “That same God and that same peace is offered to all of us today.”

Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which is deeper than all knowledge, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

Woman Uses Scripture to Make Powerful Argument Against Swearing

One woman used a passage of Scripture to make a powerful argument against swearing and using foul language. She swiftly made her insightful and powerful point about cussing, pointing to a specific verse in the New Testament. Watch the video to hear what the young woman had to say about swearing.

The tongue and the mouth must be watched closely. The words we say can and do have a tremendous and lasting impact on those around us. They can be used to build one another up and to viciously and ruthlessly cut someone down. The Bible repeatedly references the danger and power of the tongue and how it must be harnessed and watched.

In the short clip on YouTube, a man and woman discuss whether Christians should use foul language. The woman brings up the subject, asking the man what he believes.

The man in the video responds, “It’s your intent on how you’re using it” that matters most. He adds, “I have to change now because God put me in a place to be speaking.”

However, before moving on, the woman points to a story in the New Testament, when Peter denied knowing Jesus on three separate occasions. Specifically, she points to a verse in Matthew, which mentions the third and final time Peter lied and said he did know Jesus Christ.

“So, you know the moment when Peter denies Jesus 3 times, right?” she asks. “Yeah, three times people come up to him, ‘Do you know Jesus? You were just with Him. I saw you with him. You’re a Jew, like you have to be with Him.’

It was what Peter said and did during his third denial that really struck her.

“And he says, three times, ‘No, I don’t know Him. No, I don’t know Him.’ The third time, he, it says that ‘Peter curses and says, I do not know this man.’ So, in the moment where he was trying to separate himself from Jesus and no longer identify as a follower of Jesus, he cursed. He used some kind of foul language. And that’s what really got me in saying, ‘When I do use foul language, as annoying as it is when I do, I’m separating myself from the character of Jesus.’”

Ephesians 4:29 “Let not corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers.”

Ever feel like temptation is just way too powerful in your life?

Russell Brand Shares How God Is The Only One Who Can Transform Addicts

Russell Brands shares how God is the only one who can transform addicts’ lives. The actor, author and podcast host shared insight into how God’s transformative power is the only thing that will help those struggling with addiction. Watch the video to hear what Russell says about people with an addiction and God.

The world is broken and lost, full of people who are hurting and struggling. Sadly, some people have been gripped and entrapped by addiction, having their lives overtaken by those powerful habits and cravings. Whether drugs, alcohol or something else entirely, addictions can and will destroy lives.

However, in a clip posted on YouTube, Russell states there is hope for someone struggling with addiction. Having dealt with substance abuse problems himself, he explains how God is the only one who can change an addict’s life.

Speaking from experience, Russell knows the feelings and thoughts going through someone’s mind who is struggling with addiction.

“Every addict feels that they are dirty and that they are worthless and that they are broken,” he said. “Every addict I’ve spoken to feels like, ‘If you knew me, really, you would not like me. You would not; you wouldn’t be able to love me.’ Every alcoholic, addict I know does not trust people. ‘In a very deep level, I do not trust you. You will let me down. You will break me and betray me.’”

Later in the clip, he adds that there is only one solution and answer for someone in such a terrible, horrible state.

“And If when I’ve, even now thinking about that and feeling that the only thing that could relieve us of our dilemma is God,” Russell said. “God can and will if He is sought.”

The Bible mentions that all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. We’re all sinners. None of us deserves His love, mercy, grace and forgiveness, but He continually offers them freely to all who call upon His name.

2 Corinthians 12:9 “And he said to me, ‘My grace is enough for you, for my power is made complete in what is feeble.’ Most gladly, then, will I take pride in my feeble body, so that the power of Christ may be on me.”

Marine and Grandmother Share a Beautiful, Tearful Reunion

A Marine and his grandmother share a beautiful, tearful reunion. It’s the kind of moment that needs no words, but you’ll want a tissue or two. Sometimes, love is louder than the miles that separate us. Sometimes, it finds a way to wrap around us like a soft quilt stitched together with memories and longing, reminding us that no matter the distance, love waits faithfully. That’s what unfolded in a viral video that showed a tear-soaked moment on the backyard patio, a sacred meeting place for a Marine and his beloved grandmother.

The video was captioned: “A U.S. Marine returns home after deployment and surprised his grandmother.”

He had been gone for months, maybe even years, in the ways that time stretches when we ache for someone. Duty had called him to faraway places, but her prayers had followed him like a shadow. Every whispered "be safe," every tear-streaked plea, had been her offering to God on his behalf.

This young Marine was waiting to hug his grandmother with all his might when she walked through the backyard and saw him sitting there. And there she was, his grandmother, with her silver-streaked hair and trembling hands pressed to her mouth in disbelief. It wasn’t just a reunion; it was redemption in human form, a reminder that no distance can fray the threads of love as she cried tears of joy.

“I’ve missed you! Oh my God, what a surprise!” she said

She reached for him with a cry that seemed to spill out years of worry and longing all at once. He bent down, holding her like she was his lifeline, their tears mingling in a wordless conversation. Those moments stretched on, timeless and holy as if heaven itself leaned in to watch love in action.

This is the beauty of human connection, the kind that moves mountains of distance and breaks through the barriers of time. It’s the kind of love that reminds us we are never truly alone. And in this reunion, we are gently reminded that love is the gift we carry home, no matter how far we roam. We hope you enjoyed this beautiful moment between this grandmother and her grandson. Thank you for your service, young man!

1 Corinthians 13:7 "Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."

Kind Waitress Moved to Tears by Unforgettable Gift from Grateful Customer

A kind waitress was moved to tears by an unforgettable gift from a grateful customer. The woman was caught off guard and taken aback by the customer’s touching words and gifts. Watch the short video to see the unexpected and beautiful moment unfold.

Small and insignificant acts of kindness may not be viewed by the person on the receiving end that way. To some people, a random, small act of kindness may mean the world to them. A warm smile, a friendly hug, a listening ear or showing someone a little bit of grace and patience may be the thing they need at that exact moment.

However, most of the time, we will never see how much our kindness means to someone else, which is perfectly fine. We shouldn’t exhibit kind, loving behavior toward others with the expectation of a reward. We’re called to show others the love of Jesus Christ.

However, a video posted on social media shows how much a waitress’s kindness, grace and patience meant to a mother. The restaurant employee’s kind act even inspired others to do something for her, and, as the man in the video says, “It put a lot of light out into the world.”

The short one-minute clip begins with the customer at the table, finishing his meal. The waitress walks over to the table, and he says he wants to talk to her and proceeds to ask her to sit down. The woman is, of course, a tad concerned. She thinks something bad is coming in her direction, likely a tongue-lashing about her service.

But that is not the case at call.

He tells her that a few days before their conversation, she had helped a mother with a few kids who weren’t on their best behavior. He adds that instead of being short and dismissive to the mother and her kids, the waitress “treated her with dignity and kindness.” The waitress touched the mother so much that she took to Facebook to post about how the waitress treated her.

From that Facebook post, the man in the video went around to several people in the community, collecting money and gift cards, which he presented to the young woman.

As is to be expected when something so beautiful and unexpected happens, both have tears in their eyes by the end of the clip.

Heroic Woman Braves Freezing Waters to Save Man from Icy Pond

A heroic woman braved freezing waters to save a man from an icy pond. The young woman did not think twice after seeing someone in distress, having fallen into a frigid body of water. Watch the video to see how the woman jumped into action to save someone’s life.

Despite what we often hear, heroes are not politicians, athletes or actors. What is supposed to be heroic about being a government official and voting in Congress, putting a ball through a hoop or reciting lines written by someone else? Those people are often out solely for themselves, doing things out of selfish ambition.

However, real heroes are those people deserving of praise and recognition who prioritize the cares, concerns and well-being of others over their own. That was precisely what 28-year-old Kayla Masotto did, saving a man from drowning in an icy pond.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Kayla can be seen on a paddleboard scooting herself over to reach the man jet-skiing who had fallen into the pond. Eventually, Kayla reaches the man, who is able to pull himself up and onto her paddleboard.

In an interview, Kayla described the frightening state he was in when she finally got to him.

“His hands, fingers, legs – whole body was numb,” she said.

Kayla added that the man said that he “really thought that he was going to die.”

Right before the clip ends, Kayla states, “We all need to look out for each other and help each other.”

Kayla is an actual hero, worthy of all the praise and recognition she has received for her quick and decisive actions. She saw someone who needed help and then acted to meet that person’s need, not waiting for someone else to do it. She stepped up in a big way.

To make her rescue even more spectacular, Kayla did all of that while still wearing her pajamas and house slippers.

Mother’s Emotional Reaction to Surprise Visit from Her Military Son

There are few things as precious as a mother’s love for her children, and this mother’s emotional reaction to a surprise visit from her military son is a beautiful illustration of that love. Check out her utter joy at seeing her deployed son appear out of nowhere when she least expected it! Hoda Kotb shares the story during the Today segment, Hoda’s Morning Boost.

Aretha, an Oklahoma mom, traveled to Texas to inspect a new home for her son, a Private First Class soldier in the United States Army serving in South Korea. Soon after starting her walk through of the home, Aretha got a big surprise!

Watch as Aretha comes down the hallway, phone in hand, taking pictures and videos, and enters the kitchen. After doing a little double-take, Aretha realizes who is coming through the door. It’s her handsome son Marcion! Aretha cannot contain her excitement; she screams and drops to the floor.

It is the most heartwarming scene! Marcion bends down to embrace his pretty momma, and their smiles and hugs reveal an incredible bond. Of course, the older man in the video is not as demonstrative, but Aretha doesn’t hold back. Her boy, whom she thought was overseas, is right there in front of her!

Mom loves on her son, but she doesn’t have to miss him nearly as much going forward. Marcion had made arrangements to come home early to surprise his mother, but he would soon be living just one state away. They’ll get to see each other much more often! “The Sooner State” mom may be making a lot of hurried trips west (and south) as those zealous and greedy settlers did ahead of the Land Rush of 1889, but she won’t be doing anything wrong at all!

We sure are blessed to have young men and women willing to serve in our armed forces. It is a double blessing when their service is completed, and those servicemen return home safe and sound, welcomed back by loved ones like Aretha!

“For I too was a son to my father, still tender, and cherished by my mother.” Proverbs 4:3

Anthony Hopkins Nears 50 Years Sober, Shares Hope with Those Still Struggling

Anthony Hopkins is marking nearly 50 years sober by offering advice and sharing hope with those who may be struggling with a similar problem. The award-winning actor recognized the important milestone in his life by informing other people who have issues with alcohol that they are not alone and help is available. Watch the short video to hear Anthony’s important message.

People are not perfect—far from it. We all have issues and problems and have made our fair share of mistakes. We’re all sinners, and everyone has fallen well short of the glory of God, as the Bible states. Luckily, one – Jesus Christ - offers forgiveness, grace and mercy. He even has the power to break addictions.

In a clip posted on Facebook, Anthony, a recovering alcoholic, has now been sober for 49 years. He says that while drinking, he realized he was in “big, big trouble” because “he couldn’t remember anything, and I was driving a car drunk out of my skull.” He knew he needed help.

He says that he proceeded to reach out to a group made up of people like him, individuals who have problems with alcohol. Now, in the nearly 50 years since he’s been sober, Anthony says that he’s had “more fun these 49 years than ever.”

He then proceeds to talk to people who may be having trouble with alcohol, telling them that there is help available and letting them know they are not alone.

Later in the clip, he reflects on his life and career.

“Anyway, I got sober, and sounds a dull word,” he said. “But I’ve had a wonderful life. They still employ me. They still give me jobs. I’m going to be 87 in two day's time. So, I’m celebrating my long life, my unexpectedly long life.”

2 Corinthians 12:9 “And he said to me, ‘My grace is enough for you, for my power is made complete in what is feeble.’ Most gladly, then, will I take pride in my feeble body, so that the power of Christ may be on me.”

Restaurant Staff’s Heartfelt Effort to Connect with Child with Hearing Impairment

A restaurant’s staff members made a heartfelt effort to connect with a little girl with a hearing impairment. The staff wanted to ensure that the child, born deaf, felt special and appreciated. Check out the video for the unbelievably touching and heartwarming story.

The world is a lost and broken place full of hurting and struggling people. Evil and darkness are real and active forces in society. Every day, we see and hear stories on the news that help to make this abundantly clear. Anyone who believes otherwise simply does not pay attention. Sin destroys and corrupts everything that it encounters and contacts.

However, while evil and darkness are very much at work in our world, not all hope is lost. Every so often, we’ll come across signs and acts that help to at least momentarily restore our faith in humanity. A clip posted on YouTube tells the story of a group of people who will undoubtedly restore your hope and belief in humanity.

As the clip explains, one little girl, 5-year-old Ashlyn, receives a special treat each time she and her mother stop for chicken nuggets and fries at one Edmonton restaurant. That’s because the restaurant’s manager and another employee use sign language to communicate with her.

After learning that the child was deaf, Justin Halabi, the restaurant manager, taught himself some American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate with Ashlyn.

“I found out she was deaf, so I kind of wanted to communicate with her in a sense without her feeling not welcomed or not feeling at home about where she is,” he said.

Another employee, Donald Reyroso, who already knew some ASL, also communicates with Ashlyn through signing and hand gestures.

While both employees may only communicate simple messages with the little girl, the 5-year-old’s mother, Caylyn Forsberg, says their efforts are greatly appreciated.

“It took three seconds for Donald to say, ‘Hey, I know some ASL,’ and it has created a lifetime of happiness for my daughter,” she said.

Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind to one another, full of pity, having forgiveness for one another, even as God in Christ had forgiveness for you.”

Savannah Guthrie on God’s Unending, Amazing Love and Her Faith Journey

TODAY host Savannah Guthrie discussed God’s unending, amazing love and her faith journey. She shared some powerful thoughts and insights about God, His love, being a parent and the importance of faith in her life. Watch the video to hear what Savannah says about these topics and others.

Talking to people about God and faith isn’t always easy. While Christians are called to witness and share Christ’s message of love and hope with others, it’s much easier said than done. When considering bringing up faith or God in a conversation, there is an ever-present fear that you will be rejected, dismissed or even mocked.

Now, discuss faith and God in front of a television camera and millions of people watching at home, and there is a lot more room for ridicule and mockery. However, those fears have not kept Savannah from discussing God and her faith. In a clip posted on YouTube, the mother of two discussed those subjects, sharing some insightful thoughts and comments.

A big part of being Christian involves having faith and trust in Him even when we may not understand why this or that happened. However, everyone experiences doubts or has questions at some point. Savannah has some straightforward but powerful advice for those experiencing doubt or questions.

“But I don’t think it is a mistake, and I don’t think it is a lack of faith to grapple with those doubts,” she said. “The number one thing I say is, ‘Bring those doubts to God. Bring your whole self to God. He’s not afraid of our questions.’”

Later in the clip, Savannah mentions that she has gone through difficult periods that have caused her to question and even blame God. But it was in those trials and heartaches that her faith and trust in God grew. She adds that while circumstances on Earth may cause us to become angry with Him, our thoughts and feelings toward God will never impact or change His love for us.

“And what I learned is it doesn’t matter how much we think of God,” she said. “It does not matter what we think of God. It doesn’t change how He thinks of us. It does not matter. It does not change how He treats us.”

God’s love is unending, knowing no bounds or limits.

“His love has nothing to do with our thoughts of Him,” she added. “It has nothing to do with our actions – good or bad. It has nothing to do with who we are. It has everything to do with who He is.”

Before the clip ends, Savannah stated that when she became a mother, she started to realize and understand God’s love for her.

“Because it’s the closest, I think, we’ll ever come to understanding how God relates to us,” she said. “Because a mother or father’s love for their child is unconditional. Again, it doesn’t matter how they act. On their worst day, your love is not any different for your daughter.”

1 John 4:16 “And we have seen and had faith in the love which God has for us. God is love, and everyone who has love is in God, and God is in him.”
