GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter Jenn Johnson releases her new single, “Thank You Lord,” featuring GRAMMY Award–winning worship leader and songwriter Brooke Ligertwood. Available now on all streaming platforms alongside an official visualizer, the song offers another glimpse into Johnson’s forthcoming debut solo album, HAPPY, due May 22.
“Thank You Lord” is a song of remembrance and gratitude for the Lord’s goodness and unfailing love woven throughout our lives. As the song reflects on who He is and all He has done, it becomes a natural response of worship, an offering of thanksgiving that rises from a heart aware of His faithfulness.
Says Johnson, “I’m so grateful for this song and the journey behind it. ‘Thank You Lord’ is a reminder to pause and remember His goodness in every season. It feels almost like a continuation of ‘Goodness Of God’ for me. And having Brooke on it with me makes it so special – her voice, her heart, and her friendship is such a gift.”
The single follows Johnson’s previously released track, “Mad At God,” as well as earlier songs from HAPPY, including “Here In Your Arms” featuring Brian Johnson and “Walk With Me” featuring Tiffany Hudson. The album is a deeply personal reflection that blends authentic worship with a country flair and pop influences. Featuring guest appearances from Kari Jobe, Abbie Gamboa, Ligertwood, and others, HAPPY reflects a longing to know God more fully and celebrates the joy found in walking with Him every day.
Known for her powerful, emotive vocals and heartfelt songwriting, Johnson continues to shape the sound of modern worship. As co-founder and president of Bethel Music, she has co-written global worship anthems including “Goodness of God,” “The Blood,” and “Holy Forever,” the latter earning a 2025 GRAMMY nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song in a version featuring CeCe Winans. With contributions as a writer and vocalist on 18 Bethel Music albums, Johnson remains one of the most influential voices in contemporary worship music.
