Notes From The Road - The Mask Returns

Look, with all of the information that has come out, I think any practical person realizes that masking up is, largely, a waste of time. I realize that may be a controversial statement to some. Wearing a mask in a world where most people have moved past it, is really only giving you about 30% more protection than the average person gets. Of course, it’s 70% if you only converse with other ninjas like yourself - which is better but… is it worth smelling your own breath all day and the horrific nasal build up you accrue? Answering for myself, no it isn’t. Plus, once you get on the plane the air is filtered so efficiently - especially since COVID - that you really don’t need it. Now, here’s where I come down on others who choose to wear masks. Who cares? Let them. I don’t need to see the bottom half of your face if you don’t want me to. More power to you. I just hope they’re not still gripped in fear like we all were in the dark days of the pandemic. That was not a fun time. So, if you see someone wearing a mask while you’re traveling, maybe give them some space and be a little extra patient with them. In the hectic atmosphere of a busy airport that will go a long way.
