The GREATNESS of Mediocrity; Rev. C. David Coyle

God doesn't look for great men, God makes great men. He uses the weak to show strength, He calls mediocre men to stand and produce great leaders. It isn't the measure of the man that counts but the greatness of our immeasurable Almighty, All sufficient God. Judges 6-8. Gideon was just such a mediocre man.

When God Breaks the Silence

There was a time when God was silent. Pastor Jeff makes a humorous comparison to what that feels like when we ourselves give or are given the silent treatment to/by others as he shares how we must respond when God breaks His silence. In obedience, simple, humble and quick. For more information on the ministry or to see other videos, visit www.ongoodground.org Download this sermon and others for FREE on I-Tunes.

Pastor Jon Dunbar: "The Right Time"

Reading through these lessons, there were four words that caught my eye: the fullness of time. What a thought-provoking phrase that is! For many people Christmas time is more full than we’d like. Our calendars are stuffed with so many things to do that we can hardly catch our breath. When we allow busyness to take over our lives there may be no room left for moments of quiet reflection, laughter, and relaxation. Our frantic prayer becomes, “Lord, just let me get through the holidays!” The apostle Paul says that Jesus was born when the fullness of time had come (Gal.4:4). He means that Jesus showed up at just the right time, just when we needed him most. So many people fall into the trap of a life that leaves no time for God. Jesus was sent to rescue us from that trap. As we celebrate his birth our attention is called away from our “to-do” lists to the good news of what God has done on our behalf. His works are the only works that can give us any lasting peace or rest. So my prayer for you this Christmas is that your times may be filled, not with things that need doing, but with the confidence that God knows exactly what you need. And through Jesus He will provide it to you at just the right time. Have a blessed and merry Christmas!

Pastor Richard Gudgel: "The Light of the World Has Come"

Jesus is the Beacon who cuts through the darkness of our lives and not only directs our way home safely, but is Himself the Way!

Pastor Jon Dunbar: "Baptism Saves You"

Why are we baptised? Baptism lets a Christian know that God is standing next to us always- that is why baptism is so important. Through baptism, God tells us who we are and that we have been saved!

James, BFTBC, D. A. Waite, Collingswood, servant of God, trying of your faith, lack wisdom, double minded, flower of the grass, endureth temptation

James 1:1-13

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. 9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: 10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

"The Hospital for Saints," Rev. R. Scott MacLaren, First OPC Perkasie PA 6/22/14

An old negro spiritual hymn says, "There is a balm in Gilead, to heal the sin sick soul...." Many who have come to the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ have found healing for their souls, healing from the pain caused by sin in all its forms. This healing "balm" is found in the gospel of Christ, and especially in the message of his sacrificial death and glorious resurrection from the dead. Watch as Pastor MacLaren speaks from recent experiences to show how Christ is the Great Physician of souls in this sermon from Acts 9:31-43. The sermon was given at First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, Pennsylvania on June 22, 2014. First Church is a member of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Richard Scott MacLaren is the pastor.

Try the Spirits, 1 jn4.1-11; C. David Coyle

In this day, people have become less discerning about what is and what is not correct. They don't search the Scriptures to determine if the truth i s being presented. Most don't even read them devotionally, let alone as a guidebook for life and practice.
