War of Religion

Rev 12:7

Does God sanction religious war?
• This is misinterpreted by Muslims in the name of God, look at the attacks on the paper in France

Does God need to fight war
• Is there a war between the God of Christians and god of Islam; god of Jews and God of Christians

War suggests that either side could win
• If God be God there is no such things as war
• God does not need help of man to do anything
• Only need to declare what he says and move on, you don't have to

Is 13:4-17
• Morning star cast to earth, Lucifer (Satan)
• Satan was the light bearer
• Luke 10:18 - Satan fell from the heavens
○ Michael and angels fought against heaven Rev 7
○ Satan fell to earth because he has no place else to go
• These wars are not in the name of God but in the name of Satan as religions are pitted against religion
• God wanted to establish righteousness and freedom
○ Adam and Eve disobeyed and received the wrath and judgment of God
○ If you allow a child to rebel against you then you are teaching that child to rebel against God
○ Learn from Adam's example or else receive the same sentence of death
○ You have same choice as Adam to make to follow God or disobey

Religious wars fought for man
• God does not need your guns, tanks, etc
• James 4:
○ We want what someone else has instead of asking God
○ Outside the will of God and trying to circumvent God
○ Talk to God and he will direct you as to His will

3 John 1:8-14

8 We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth. 9 I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. 10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church. 11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God. 12 Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true. 13 I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto thee: 14 But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. Our friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name.

Law versus Grace

Law not meant to impose penalty for commission of a offense, nor to inflict injury
Law - torah from OT; to give instruction, teaching, or to train

Adam and Eve in garden of Eden disobeyed God
• Eve - sorrow in child birth
• Adam - work by sweat of brow
• Both cursed to die
• Cain slew Able
• Cain was marked by God and protected , even though he had murdered his brother Able
• When righteous men of God (sons of G0d) left righteousness to be with unrighteous women (daughters of men)
• God looks less at your actions and more at what is in your heart
○ In Satan is evil to disobey God
• One rotten fruit will spoil the whole bag, bunch, or bushel

Commandments
• Moses received the commandments to teach to the people
• Obey the teaching, law will make you prosperous
• Blessing will overtake you when you keep the law
• If you don’t obey you will lose it all, one night stand instead of marriage, end needing public assistance, welfare, cheating on test but when you get to college find that you cant cheat and end of put out
• Carrying unforgiveness is drudgery in your life; you have to obey and release it, forgive, love even those that have not done the same for you
• We can be infected by being around sinful things, people ; the law helps us to set boundaries to overcome sin and not be spoiled by unrighteousness

Reprobate
• For the spoiled God wanted to give you his best so God rejects you
• That with
• Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under gr

The Exodus (when God sets you free)

In this message we’re going to look at the story of the Exodus - a powerful parable of how God delivers us from both oppression and from our obstinate selves!

“The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them…”

3 John 1:1-7

The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth. 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 5 Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers; 6 Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: 7 Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.
