Giving In Response To A Blessing

Most people know that it takes money to run a ministry that spreads the Gospel, and it is easy to give when you give in response to what a man or a ministry does that truly touches your life. God does not tell Christians how much to give because He is desires RELATIONSHIP, and wants us to work with Him in deciding what to give to whom. Then it is easy to be a cheerful giver, and watch God multiply it back to you.

Fire Is Not A Preservative

Do you know that most Christians believe that Adolph Hitler has everlasting life? How did "hell" become such a popular term, and what the hell is it? By the way, you can go there, and it does freeze over. What does the Bible really say about the destiny of the wicked?

The story of Noah's Ark

In this message we’re going to listen to the (often so familiar that we forget how terribly shocking it is) story of Noah’s Ark.

This is the account of Noah and his family.
Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.
Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high. Make a roof for it, leaving below the roof an opening one cubit high all around.[f] Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks. I am going to bring flood waters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you. You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you...
Genesis 6:9-22, NIV

What's Love

Agape - Godly love.
Eros - Romantic / Marriage.
Phileo - Brotherly love.
Storge - Attachment kind of love.

Love says you are also loving the law of God. If you love someone you would not lie on them, you would not commit adultery, you would not covet anything that they have, you would not steal from them...

Sin weakens your resolve on love. Anything that you do should be unto God, not for man to get recognition. If you are making your love a conditional thing you hold back in your giving and you life for God...

We don't love like God says love. One way you show the world how you love, is by the way you love God. When you keep the word of God, it is perfection in love.

By the love you have one to another. How is it that God loves you but you don't love someone else? If God loves you in your mess, why can't you love someone else in there mess? And you say that you have God in you? You can't love someone else, you can't forgive others? If you want people to see that you love God, you have to start showing love. If you read the Bible you start living the Bible. When you show love to your enemy you are showing an inward conversion of your heart and not just "lip service"

And by loving you show the world that you have been born again in Christ Jesus

1 John 4:16-21
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Pastor Kirby unpacks the significance of Jesus' prayer to his Father in this sermon entitled, "Jesus Consecrates Himself."

11-23-14 MESSAGE- "Associated, Yet Not Influenced"

Knowing the Lord does not mean we will be like Him. Walking with Him does not mean we will emulate Him. Too many today know the Lord, and walk with Him, yet they fail to allow His Spirit to rule and reign in their hearts and lives. They say and do things which are completely contrary to the will and mind of God while standing convinced the Lord would approve of their misdeeds and misspoken words. We must learn to allow the presence of God in our lives to influence us in positive and constructive ways.

"St. Paul and the Philosophers," Acts 17:16-34. Rev. R. Scott MacLaren

The great Italian Renaissance artist Raphael painted a beautiful fresco in the Vatican (1509-1511) called "The School of Athens." It depicted the great classic Greek philosophers in various poses, with Plato and Aristotle at the center. The Apostle Paul would face their descendents in the Areopagus where Socrates famously drank the hemlock and died. Paul presented a masterful argument for the truth of the gospel, proclaiming that God would judge the world through the resurrected Jesus Christ. Watch as Pastor MacLaren shows what we may learn from the speech when dealing with those who have no respect for the authority of Scripture. This sermon was presented at First Presbyterian Church of Perkasie, Pennsylvania, on November 23, 2014. First Church is a member of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. The Rev. R. Scott MacLaren is the pastor.

Romans 3:26-4:8

26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. KJV

1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Acts 8:7-23

7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. 8 And there was great joy in that city. 9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: 10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. 11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. 12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. 14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

1 John 2:15-29

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
